Educational purpose only
IOL Adviser provides educational guidance about cataract surgery and intraocular lens (IOL) options. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. The Questionnaire — including its automated result — is an educational tool based on a modified version of a published IOL-selection algorithm, and does not replace an evaluation by a qualified ophthalmologist or eye surgeon. Always consult a licensed eye care professional before making decisions about your treatment.
No doctor-patient relationship
Using this site, including the Questionnaire or a paid educational Consultation, does not create a doctor-patient relationship. Consultations are educational in nature and are not a substitute for a clinical examination.
Paid products and services
Some content (such as the lens-selection guide) and services (such as educational consultations) are offered for a fee, currently processed via PayPal. A consultation is confirmed only after you receive an email agreeing the date and time.
The IOL Decision Guide is personalized digital content licensed to one buyer for personal use. It may not be copied, shared, published, resold or uploaded to another service. After payment verification, a private link is normally emailed automatically within a few minutes. The link is available for 7 days and allows up to 3 downloads. If we cannot deliver the guide, you are entitled to a full refund.
If you book and pay for an IOL consultation within 30 calendar days after purchasing the guide, the full €49 guide price will be deducted from the consultation fee. The same email address must be used so the guide purchase can be verified. The credit can be used once, has no cash value and cannot be combined with another guide credit.
Where mandatory law provides a withdrawal right for digital content, the checkout asks for your express request to begin preparing and supplying the personalized guide immediately and your acknowledgement that the withdrawal right may end once the digital content is supplied. This does not limit rights that cannot legally be waived, including remedies for defective or undelivered content.
You may request a full refund before the consultation date and time have been confirmed. After confirmation, you may request a full refund or one free rescheduling if you give at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice and missed appointments are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise. If IOL Adviser cancels, you may choose a new time or receive a full refund. This policy does not limit any mandatory consumer rights.
If mandatory consumer law gives you a cooling-off or withdrawal period — including the 14-day right that generally applies to online service contracts for consumers in the EU — that right applies in addition to the policy above. If you expressly ask us to hold the consultation during that period, you request performance to begin before it expires. Once the consultation has been fully delivered, the withdrawal right may end where applicable law permits and you gave the required prior consent. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
Accuracy of information
We aim for content to be accurate and evidence-aware, but medical knowledge evolves and individual circumstances vary. We do not guarantee that the information — including the Questionnaire's automated IOL-category suggestion — is complete, current, or applicable to your specific situation.
Third-party links and referrals
The site may link to or refer you toward clinics or vendors. Any such referral is informational; we are not responsible for the services provided by third parties, and you should independently evaluate any clinic or provider.
Intellectual property
All content on this site (text, illustrations, design) is owned by IOL Adviser unless otherwise noted, and may not be reproduced without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IOL Adviser is not liable for decisions made based on information from this site, including the Questionnaire result. Use of the site and any consultation is at your own risk.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site evolves. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
